once you've seen

once you’ve seen the life
of an ordinary stone

flash before your eyes, the whole of it
dropped in your lap

like a late summer pear,
once the person inside has

hummed a little tune
in your ear, a knowing comfort

in a season of haste,
once your fingers become

galaxies lifting the stone into
original light…

what need of fear?
what room for doubt?

  1. How is it I so often forget and the fear and doubt find a place to dance in me

    1. It's a very forgetful dream we're living...but we're getting more lucid all the time! Learning to call the tune and decide what gets to dance and what has to sit out. Hafiz would be so proud!
